Do you suffer with neck pain and stiffness? There are many possible reasons as to why you feel this way. One of which is your occupation.

More and more of us are working from desks, either at the office or working from home. Spending hours and hours everyday, stuck in the same position, can lead to aches, stiffness and pain in the neck (amongst other parts of the body).
Neck pain can lead to loss of concentration, headaches and longer terms mobility issues. Overtime, if you don't treat the issue and make changes to your day-to-day, the issues can become more severe and harder to correct. Below are a list of causes and solutions for desk based neck pain.
Causes:
Bad posture
Incorrect desk set-up
long periods with movement or breaks
lack of movement outside of work
muscle weakness
lack of mobility
Solutions:
Stretching (passive, dynamic, static)
Sports Massage Therapy
Exercise (strength based)
Regular 'movement' breaks
Staying Hydrated
Here at SW Sports Massage and Fitness, we offer solutions to these issues in Aberdeen. Options include 30 minute passive stretch sessions and/or 1 hour long sports massage sessions. These can help loosen and reduce pain and stiffness in and around the neck area. With your massage sessions, we also offer advice and mobility programming that you can perform at home, in order to help the recovery and prevent further issues.
